As long as I can remember my husband has called my menstrual cup a choice set of words. I thought it was a hilarious phrase so it became my own nickname for my cup. Menstrual cups have been given funny nicknames by many others. I’ve always kept a little mental rolodex of my favs and coined a few of my own. Of all the names my favorite is probably “Poon Spittoon.” I give full credit to an old friend Jim who coined this in a Facebook thread of mine years ago. I stashed it in my back pocket for a rainy day. “Pussy Plug” was coined by my husband when I first started using my cup and I couldn’t stop laughing. My friend Jen gets to claim Blood Chalice and has a OOAK cup pouch I made for her with that phrase. As a bonus nickname tampons have been referred to a “vampire teabags.“
Someone more creative and artistic than I am could draw each of these and it would be amazing. Since I’m not an artist I made a gif with a few of these phrases.
