It never fails that every time a video I upload goes viral the comments start turning into an advert for pads. For the record I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST PADS. And also for the record I AM NOT HOLDING A 🔪 TO YOUR THROAT AND FORCING YOU TO USE A CUP OR DISC. Advocating and educating is not equal to whatever it is people think I’m doing when I post. I also sell reusable pads and period undies like - I’m on team “use what works for you.” I will not “just use pads” though, very happy with my disc. The funny part of these comments is that more comments (negative or positive) equals more engagement so the pad posse is actually pushing my propaganda to more people while making sure they see more of my content in their feed 🤯🤩😏

How many of you spent hours watching videos before making the switch? 👋👋👋 I hope some of them were mine 🤌 It doesn’t matter if you’re 15 or 50 - there is no shame is trying something new and letting a stranger hold your hand through the process. Sometimes I’m that stranger. And sometimes I’m the one getting schooled by a 13 year old on a new photoshop technique. We can all learn from each other 😅

There’s a reason I always tell new cup users to try the punchdown fold first. It’s easy to do AND it is usually more comfortable and easier to insert compared to the C Fold. There are smaller folds that are more complicated and/or harder to hold onto and keep folded. This one is simple and it works well for all cups and most users. If the Punchdown isn’t your fav then definitely explore the other options - there are probably 10+ folds out there. And period nirvana has a long post and video of all of them. Could your menstrual cup be responsible for your U

Could your menstrual cup be responsible for your UTI? If the cup is partially preventing urine from exiting or even blocking it completely then the cup could be to blame. This is especially true if you’re prone to UTI’s or didn’t have them until after using a cup. To solve this issue you want to look for a softer and/or smaller diameter cup. Saalt Soft is a popular softer firmness cup available in 2 sizes or they have a Teen option that is about the same firmness as their Saalt Soft. This relieves the outward force being pushed against the bladder and/or the urethra. Ergonomically shaped cups are another option. KIND Cup is ergonomic and a softer firmness. You can also switch to discs. These sit in a higher part of the body and their rim is smaller which means less surface area is pressing against the bladder or urethra. To be safe you can look for softer firmness discs like Diva Disc or Cora Soft Fit but many who experienced issues with firm cups don’t have the same issue with firmer discs. Not to say a firm disc can’t cause pressure but it is less common.

Sometimes it can take a bit of “dialing in” (as we say in the espresso world) to find the perfect fit. Your body’s response to firmness is almost impossible to predict until you’ve tried a cup.
